Sports plan for English A -Mohini Vohra
Aims:
• To develop coordination, grace, and control
• To give as wide a skill, games and dance experience as possible
• To present opportunities to belong to a group in which each child is accepted
• To provide experiences which will develop self-reliance, loyalty and kindness to others
• To develop a sense of fair play and cooperation and the ability to work in groups
Method:
Warm up activities: Movement awareness, Rhythms and dance, Play, Gymnastics, Games and Relays
Exploring running, jumping, hopping, skipping, crawling, creeping and balancing
Singing movement songs: “Mulberry bush”, “Farmer in the Dell” and “Touch your toes”
Standing balances, walking balances, balance and support stunts
Hoop spinning, hoop springing, hoop group games
Beanbag Tossing and catching, beanbag relays
Ball play – two handed toss and catch, rolling games, throw and catch, bouncing games
Long rope turning and jumping, short rope jumping, skipping
Relays: Overhead passing relay, Over-and-under passing relay, Drop and fetch relay, Zig-zag relay, Animal walk relay, Leap-frog relay
Games: Red Rover, Mousetrap, Musical hoops, Circle tag, Guess who’s leading
