Creative Arts for English D 2008-09 - Jeff Weber

Aims:

We will be focusing on Music, Design (illustration and Calligraphy) and Drama.

• In music we will learn about music styles: from Swing to Pop. We will learn about form and other basic music terminology. We will be doing lots of singing and listening. Watching and analyzing music videos and their lyrics.
We will use sources such as the library, music brought from home, information and music found on the internet and hopefully enjoy some live performances.

• We will also be working on Illustration and Calligraphy in preparation for the students art exam. We will be learning calligraphy skills and learning basic design principles. The work we do will be able to be used as supporting work if they choose these questions for their exam.

• We will also be learning drama skills and enjoy doing short sketches, some of which we could present to the school in our assemblies.
