Danish in English D
Danish in English D is taught in 3 groups;Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.

Topic plan for Beginner Danish 2009/10 - Camilla Møller
Imagine beginning in a new school in a foreign country, without being able to speak a word of the native language.
This is why the students in Beginner Danish need to learn Danish as quickly as possible.

Aims
To make all students get to know the Danish language so they can communicate with friends in school and outside school.

Differentiation:
. The students who are introduced to Danish for the first time will be given easy tasks.
Students with a little knowledge of Danish will be given more difficult assignments.

Method
First we will learn how to introduce ourselves and then we will learn the numbers and the alphabet.

Goals for this class are:

Grammar
Vocabulary
Learn days of the week
Learn how say time
Construct and write sentences
Read easy reader books
Learn about the Danes and Denmark

This year Slovakia, India, Uganda, England, Croatia, Macedonia, America, Scotland, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkey and Lebanon are represented in the group.

Each student will present their own native country during this year to the other students.

Materials:
In order to learn Danish I will work intensively with the sounds of the Danish Language. For this I use "Min Udtale" by Helge Søgaard for each lesson. This book has to be bought by the students.
