Art and Craft in English C
Art in English C 2009/ 2010 Anne Voulund

Aims:
To develop skills for recording from direct experience and imagination.
To record observations and ideas using sketchbooks.
To make them aware that a piece of art work requires thought, planning, effort and revision.
To experiment with and develop control of tools and techniques for drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture, exploring a range of materials.
To recognise ways in which works of art, craft and design reflect the time and place in which they were made.
To analyse and discuss the elements of a painting including composition, style, use of colour and perspective.
To develop an art vocabulary.

Method:• We will experiment with lettering and type faces.
• We will observe and draw animals and landscapes on school camp.
• We will work individually and in groups.
• We will work with different media, soft pencils, hard pencils, pen and ink, acrylic paint, water colour pencils and paint, oil pastels and chalks.
• We will experience paper cutting and folding, 3D modelling.
• Colour mixing and painting.
• We will make wax relief and textural rubbings, leaf prints and sewing.
• We will also look for inspiration from the work of Mondrian, Monet Chagall and Klee and other artists.
• We will study Aboriginal art.
